Bay of Fundy- tides

                                                    ( Low tide)                             ( High tide )

I would like visit the Hopewell rocks. They are located on the upper shores of Bay Fundy. The Bay of Fundy has the highest and lowest tides ever. Each day 100 billion tones of ocean water flows in and out of the bay. Every hour about 4-6 feet of water rises or lowers depending if its going threw a low tide or a high tide. But every six and a half hours after the low tide the high tide comes back. Witch happens twice a day. The Hopewell rocks is a tourist adtraction. When the low tides is happing you can walk threw the rocks on the ocean floor and go in caves. Each time there is different things that are left on the ocean floor after the high tide. If they didn't know when the tides where happing people could be hurt when the high tide comes back, cause so many people visit the Hopewell rocks. Look at the pics i have posted to give you more of an idea what the Hopewell rocks tides look like. :)))

How the moon affects ocean tides?

The moon has gravity force. It's next to earth so they pull on each other, the earth pulls on the moon keeping it in orbit, while the Moon pulls on the water in the ocean as it orbits earth. Also thats why we have high tides cause the moon pulls the water.... and thats how we have tides :)))))))))

Why do we study ocean waves?

I learned that not only Oceanographers and Surfers study waves. That also Australia engineers do to.  They are studding the waves to find a way they can use the waves as a source of generated electric power. why? Well they trying to create a alternate fuel source and get away from oil and fossil fuels. yayayayayayayayayayayayayayayay! :))))))))))

Seagulls- Blue Planet

Seagulls live on the coast line of the ocean, there really isn't a specific coast line they live on. They usually stay close to land though. They nest in the rocks/cliffs that surround the ocean. The Seagulls are very aggressive when it comes to food and their nest. The seagulls will swoop down on the nest durning breeding season to protect their nest. They also become competitive over their food. They have sharp eyes which makes them able to spot prey easily and they have very sharp claws to grab their prey. They also have webbed feet and a sharp beaks. The seagulls are very interesting their definitely belong on the shores of our oceans. :))))))))

The Nike Shoe Investigation

For our part 2 blog, the "nike shoe investigation" for ocean science was very interesting. As i was plotting the data of the shoe drifting i notice, that it was going in circle kind of motion. After, it was said and done, the shoe was drifting on the golf stream, Canary C., and the N. Equatorial c. streams. It traveld about 1,782.52 miles, very amazing. :)))

World Curretns Part 1

The Ocean has wind driven currents, witch is a current produced in a body of water by blowing over the water surface. The heat from the sun is stronger around the equator and weaker around the poles. This sets up a wind pattern with winds moving from the equator to the poles. Thats why weather around the equator is warm and weather around the poles is cold.
